Watch: How NM Workers' Compensation Attorneys LLC Helps Injured Workers
About NM Workers' Compensation Attorneys LLC
The video above introduces our firm and the people behind it. NM Workers' Compensation Attorneys LLC is a locally owned Albuquerque law office founded in 2020 that represents injured workers, and only injured workers, in New Mexico workers’ compensation claims. Christian C. Doherty, Esq. and Neysa E. Lujan, Esq. bring more than sixty years of combined legal experience to the firm, much of it spent defending insurance companies before deciding to work for the people on the other side of those claims.
How a New Mexico Claim Usually Unfolds
A workers’ compensation claim in New Mexico starts with reporting the injury to your employer, seeking medical treatment, and filing with the Workers’ Compensation Administration. From there the insurer decides what to authorise: medical care, wage replacement while you cannot work, mileage to appointments, vocational retraining, and disability benefits where the injury is permanent. Claims come unstuck at predictable points, including late reporting, returning to work too early, recorded statements given without advice, and treatment the insurer declines to approve. Those are the moments where having an attorney changes the result.

What Benefits a Claim Can Cover
New Mexico workers’ compensation is designed to cover the cost of the injury rather than to punish anyone for it. That usually means reasonable and necessary medical treatment, replacement of a portion of lost wages while you are unable to work, mileage for travel to medical appointments, vocational rehabilitation where you cannot return to the same job, and permanent partial or total disability benefits where the injury does not fully resolve. Where a worker dies as a result of a workplace injury, dependants may be entitled to death and survivor benefits. Which of these apply depends on the medical evidence and on how the claim is presented, which is the part we handle.
If the video raised a question it did not answer, our frequently asked questions cover reporting deadlines, denied claims, recorded statements, and what happens if an employer disputes that an injury happened at work.
