What Happens After You Send This Form

Someone from our office reads every consultation request and replies by the next business day. The first response is usually a short call to make sure we understand what happened and to confirm we are the right firm for your situation. If your claim is time sensitive, and many workers’ compensation claims are, we will say so straight away rather than leaving you to work it out on your own. New Mexico expects an injury to be reported to your employer promptly, and the sooner we can look at the dates the better your position tends to be.

What Helps Us Answer Faster

You do not need paperwork to request a consultation, but if you already have any of it to hand it will speed things up: the date and place of the injury, the name of your employer, the name of the insurance adjuster if one has contacted you, any letter denying or reducing your benefits, and the names of the doctors or clinics you have seen. If you have none of that, send the form anyway. Part of our job is chasing records down.

If Your Claim Has Already Been Denied

A denial is not the end of a claim. Insurers deny benefits for reasons that range from genuine disputes about causation to simple paperwork gaps, and a good number of denials are reversed once the medical record is assembled properly and the deadlines are put in front of the right people. If you are holding a denial letter, bring the date on it to the consultation, because the window to respond is limited and it starts running from that date rather than from the day you read it.
